Satellite Phones

Global Satellite Telephony

TS2 Satellite PhonesA satellite telephone, satellite phone, or satphone is a type of mobile phone that connects to orbiting satellites instead of terrestrial cell sites. Depending on the architecture of a particular system, coverage may include the entire Earth, or only specific regions.

Until recently, it has been believed that satellite telephony is a technology designed exclusively for soldiers, seamen or public administration. Nowadays more and more individuals, companies, businessmen and travelers use it. Satellite technology gives feeling of safety and guarantees constant global communication.

Modern satellite phones are very similar to standard mobile phones in terms of appearance and functionality. They also need SIM card and enable using pre-paid (reloadable card) or post-paid (subscription) system. The difference between the satellite phone and mobile roaming is lower cost of international calls, free of charge incoming calls and SMS regardless of network, as well as unlimited coverage. Satellite phones offer international roaming at the lowest cost! TS2 satellite phones are of standard GSM mobile phone size (Thuraya SO 2510, SG 2520 and XT), however, they enable unlimited communication all over the world (Iridium 9505a , Iridium 9555, IsatPhone Pro).

All of our products are designed for high performance telephony in the harshest environments and territories.

Iridium Satellite Phones

Iridium Satellite LLC is a company, based in Bethesda, Maryland, United States which operates the Iridium satellite constellation, a system of 66 active satellites used for worldwide voice and data communication from hand-held satellite phones and other transceiver units. The Iridium network is unique in that it covers the whole Earth, including poles, oceans and airways. The company derives its name from the chemical element iridium. The number of satellites projected in the early stages of planning was 77, the atomic number of iridium, evoking the metaphor of 77 electrons orbiting the nucleus.
